Yes, exactly… we’re talking about the same thing here. :)

That said, my experience of building out pieces of functionality to behave like microservices has been extremely poor, leading to cyclical references, poor performance, difficult deployments, and more... while usually not delivering the improvements they intend to. This could well be a result of the projects I have worked on in general, but I just haven’t seen this highly-decoupled style of design (regardless of the mechanism itself… REST, SOAP, direct references, etc.) actually be a good way of doing things in practice.
