What people get *disastrously* wrong about microservices, serverless, etc. is that these architecture patterns address very specific problems that almost exclusively apply to very large companies with large and highly-skilled development teams... not the typical startup, not the typical enterprise company, and even if those companies DID have "large and highly-skilled development teams", it is unlikely that the problems they are solving are best solved with microservices, serverless, etc.

Not to say that these are "bad" architectures! They aren't!

But they are meant for very specific use cases, and those use cases are much more narrow that folks think they are.
