This is the only article I've ever read that claimed C++ was a fast/rapid language to write code in (I suppose it's faster than C and Assembly and possibly COBOL?), and furthermore that the way to write C++ fast was because it didn't have guardrails?

Now, I took only 1 class in college that used C, I never really learned C++ other than reading a book about it 15 years ago, and I've never touched Rust. So I'm in no shape to make claims based on hands-on, personal experience. But I trust the 40 years I have in/around this industry, talking to hundreds of people over the years, etc. So when I say "I don't think this article makes any sense" I feel I'm probably right here.

C++ has never been viewed as a super safe, super fast language to write in... just... faster and safer than C.
