No one... and I mean NO ONE... has a good way to quantify the popularity or usage rates of a programming language.
Job postings? Mostly meaningless except in broad slices.
Number of search queries? Stack Overflow questions? SO answers? Forum posts? Incredibly meaningless. People don't need to post questions on SO or forums about C#, Java, C++, etc. *because the posts are already there and so are the answers*. But they aren't there yet about New Language Of The Week. So New Language Of The Week looks like it is highly used by these metrics, when really they just prove that the language is gaining adoption.
I say all of this as someone who is not a fan of Java. I'm not being a Java apologist.
But your "facts" are really not very substantial, and this is just a link/click bait article, just like all other "Language X is Dead!" articles.
