iOS, in general, has positively terrible UI/UX on most things, the clock is just one of them. Funny thing is, it *just* got a redesign/rework and it's still terrible! I've been an iPhone user since iPhone 5 and I still get frustrated with this phone on a regular basis because it feels like it's barely one step better than using an X11 terminal session on the usability... everything is 97 layers deep to get anything done, too much is buried under gestures that you have no clue they even exist.
