Do you understand that these companies are being taught that 2 x 2 = 7? If that is what they are being taught, does it matter what "official Scrum" is?

It's pure pedantry. Pure. Pedantry.

All so the "official Scrum" folks can stop feeling so attacked.

Instead of this pedantic response, show some sympathy and help them get out of the mess.

But sitting here sharpening your pencil to highlight what is/is not "official Scrum" is just kicking people in the teeth when they are already done, not helpful, and frankly its insulting.
